Making it Real -  I'm practicing what I'm preaching

Too many talk a big game so I am putting my resources  where my mouth is.

The house image above is the porotype being built to see if a unique flexible multigenerational house design, currently not allowable under building and planning rules, can convince authorities to reconsider the rules.*

Making it Real is a blog page within this website that helps explain all the trials and tribulations being faced in trying to bring an alternative  living option that seeks to improve the life of its inhabitants whilst reducing the burden on other members of our society.  It shouldn't be this hard!!

This journey has covered and expanded ones knowledge in design, building, economics, sustainability,  marketing and much more and to not share this would be a shame. There is a  growing list of articles that explains why I have persisted for 10 years (and counting!) to MAKING THIS REAL!

*The Current design of the house complies but allows for future alterations...at an unnecessary added to cost!
Blogs that explain my journey to create change:

3 Trends to raise the quality of life in our Cities.

This video is a fascinating look into what the cities of tomorrow need to address to achieve a higher quality of life. An extract from the link is provide below.

THE AGING SOCIETY IS A MEGATOPIC
“We’re still building the wrong kinds of homes. The old model of two children, three rooms, and four wheels has had its day,” says Professor of Architecture Thomas Jocher, Director of the Institute for Housing and Design at the University of Stuttgart. “In future, we will need new buildings that are ready. With a kind of airbag for getting older. For example, doors wide enough for a wheelchair.”
